How does AI stamp identification work?
When you upload or take a photo of a stamp, StampId uses an advanced computer vision analysis system to extract its unique characteristics. The process generally includes:
Secure Image Upload: Your image is encrypted and processed by our identification engine.
Feature Matching: The AI analyzes the pattern, perforations, face value, and printing era against a global database.
Structured Philatelic Data: The visual info is converted into detailed records, including the catalog number, country of origin, and current market reference value.
Our goal is to make philately accessible while keeping the results transparent and editable.
Why did I receive a “Non-stamp” warning?
If the system determines that an image does not clearly contain a stamp, or if the photo is too blurry to extract fine details (like perforations or text), a warning may appear. For best results:
Can I edit the AI results?
Yes. Before saving a stamp to your collection, you can manually adjust:
Stamp name, year, and country.
Condition grade (e.g., Mint Never Hinged, Used, or Cancelled).
Personal notes and acquisition details.
